Instructions for design leader

As the design leader, you have additional responsibilities.

If you want to limit users to zones, select a zone layer (e.g., subwatersheds) and guide users to click the zones where they will work. Unclaimed zones are open to anyone. Zone allocation is optional.

After all users have joined and zone allocation is completed, click the Geodesign button to enable the drawing controls in the upper left of the map. New users cannot join during the geodesign phase, but you can return to the zone allocation phase at any time.

The design leader can unclaim zones or delete individual shapes on behalf of any user. If an issue occurs, you can force all participants to sync with the database to resolve it.

Overview

Geodesign is a way of collaboratively creating land use scenarios to improve environmental outcomes and farm profitability. This tool allows users to draw land use changes on a map and receive real-time feedback on the environmental and economic outcomes of their designs. The tool is designed to facilitate collaboration and communication among stakeholders, including farmers, policymakers, and researchers.

Users can work independently or create a collaborative session to work with others in real-time. In a collaborative session, the creator can choose to have participants focus on specific subwatersheds or other units, or allow everyone to edit the entire area.

Start by selecting a region. Selection can be made on the map or or using the menu below.
